Driveline director, Paul Tobin, explains how Tourism Transport Limited (TTL) and Driveline, collaborated to get a Christchurch based owner/operator, a brand new Platinum Shuttle.
Driveline has been working with TTL since Driveline’s inception in 2001. Tourism Transport Limited has been a loyal client for 17 years. Some things have changed over the years but not the fact that we have a great relationship with a great shuttle company. Driveline works with clients on a one to one basis to tailor things specifically for them, customising everything from the vehicle to the finance package. Currently TTL has 135 shuttles. Auckland has about 70% of those vans but there are shuttles operating in the other main centres. Then there are also a couple of vans in the smaller towns and cities.
A few weeks ago, we handed over the first Volkswagen Crafter Platinum Shuttle van to Christchurch owner/operator Grant Dean. He had flown up with his wife and daughter, so that they could share in the excitement of Grant receiving this amazing vehicle. There will be two Platinum Shuttles in the South Island: one in Christchurch, and one in Queenstown. The delivery took place at Continental Car Services so that they could run through the vehicle for Grant. Also present was Daniel Stanners, who is the General Manager of Auto Transform, and the firm which does much of the customization. He helpfully went through the fit-out specifications which had been done, so that owner/operator Grant Dean knew everything there was to know about his shiny, new vehicle.
The Platinum Shuttle is built to a much higher specification than the Super Shuttle. It has got individual bucket leather seats and the Volkswagen Crafter is a lot bigger than the Hiace, providing much more leg room for the individual. To further enhance passenger comfort, there’s drop down trays in the vehicle and rear air conditioning. Grant’s broad smile showed that he really enjoyed taking ownership of the fitted out version. He was shown a couple of bare vans awaiting drop off to Auto Transform for their fit-outs, which provided him with an awareness of how much they had done to make him feel happy he with the final product. Another satisfied customer and another exceptional vehicle for a long- standing client.
