Tell us a bit about your background.
I have 18 years of experience or car sales experience, mainly in selling new vehicles. Prior to that I was a Chef.
What are some of your passions outside of work?
I enjoy outdoor activities like Fishing and Kayaking. I’m also a fan of Horse racing.
What is your dream car?
Love my classic V8’s and HSV V8’s but the BMW i8 has appealed to me from the first time I saw it.
What are some of the things you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy problem solving and finding solutions for the customers that I interact with. Everyone’s situation is unique, so you need to be a good listener and deliver a solution that works for them. I also like meeting people and building long term relationships; I still get a Christmas card from one of the first people I sold a car to 18 years ago.
Where do you see the vehicle market in 10 years time?
While I love the concept of electric and self-driving cars, I don’t feel like New Zealand is as quick on the uptake as overseas. The same could be said for ownership of vehicles in New Zealand – we haven’t been as quick on the uptake for the short term ride share/subscription options for vehicles in NZ.
One thing that would be pretty cool is having flying cars like the ones they had in The Jetsons.
How does vehicle leasing price up against vehicle financing?
Leasing is slightly cheaper but it’s not for everyone – luckily Driveline is competitive in both!
