Vehicle safety has come a long way in the last 20 years.
Twenty years ago, there was a big push by many governments around the world to improve vehicle safety. This came on the back of NCAP testing which revealed how vulnerable drivers were in a crash situation with the then safety features.
While car manufacturers were initially outraged, they got to work. Before long many were meeting all the criteria for a four or five star safety rating.
Today, more new vehicles than ever come equipped with:
-Airbags on the front and side.
-Seat belt alerts
-Three point safety belts for all seats
-Pre-crash systems
-Active Head Restraints
-Improved Structures
As you’ll see in the video below, these features have markedly improved driver and passenger safety in a crash situation.
